Your ponies will leave some enormous fertilizer heaps around the field and particularly in the corners. Spread the pony compost out on Blackberry bush removal the field with a drag harrow and rake out the field corners to split it up in more modest pieces; it assists with keeping the fly hatchlings in the fertilizer from bring forth out and irritating your ponies.
